Right-of-Way Initiative

One of the biggest challenges to electric providers is managing the vegetation that grows in rights-of-way. In order to meet this challenge, vegetation management is a necessary part of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s line construction and maintenance programs enabling the cooperative to provide reliable electric service to our members. The relatively large number of trees and the density of vegetation in our service territory has a direct bearing on the design, construction and maintenance of our electric system.

Bluebonnet is committed to developing and implementing a comprehensive, environmentally friendly vegetation management plan for our rights-of-way that increases reliability, reduces cost and positively impacts the community. We held five Town Hall meetings within our service area to inform our members of Bluebonnet’s current right-of-way vegetation management methods and to garner interest and input for future plans.
