Commercial Rates

Bluebonnet’s rate for commercial electric service is divided into two line item charges on the bill; Wholesale Power Cost and Bluebonnet Commercial Service. Wholesale Power Cost is the cost Bluebonnet has to pay our power provider for generating and delivering electricity to Bluebonnet’s electric substations. Bluebonnet Commercial Service is the cost of delivering electricity to each member’s business.

The following example is for the commercial rate:

The Wholesale Power Cost consists of:

Wholesale Power Charge - ($0.072674 per kWh) – cost of purchased power, plus

Power Cost Recover Factor (PCRF) – variable, per kWh, rate based on fluctuations in generating costs.

The Bluebonnet Commercial Service cost consists of:

Bluebonnet Service Charge Single Phase- ($0.030218 per kWh) - electric system expenses, and

Bluebonnet Service Charge Three Phase- ($0.032099 per kWh) - electric system expenses, and

The Member Charge is ($27.50 per month for single-phase service and $50.00 per month for three-phase service) the monthly expense for each meter including meter reading, billing, payment processing, etc.

The following equation shows how these elements add up to your Total Charges.

Wholesale Power Cost = A
Bluebonnet Commercial Service = B
Member Charge = C
X = kWh used

AX + BX +C = Total Charges
