Some Local Retailers Now Accepting

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative Bill Payments

(Bastrop) – Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members now have the option of paying their electric bills at several retail stores in the cooperative’s service area, specifically HEB and Wal-Mart. By accepting Bluebonnet payments, these retailers have increased convenience for Bluebonnet’s members, as well as their own customers by providing a location where they can both shop and pay their electric bills.

“Our members’ ability to efficiently take care of their business is important to Bluebonnet,” said Barbara Seilheimer, operations manager of member services. “Bill payment options, provided by local retailers and banks, are a convenience to both members and the cooperative.”

In order for payments to be accepted by these retailers Bluebonnet members must present their statement with their method of payment. Past-due payments must be paid directly to Bluebonnet. Late payments are not accepted at alternate payment locations.

Although this method of payment is a convenience, members should be aware that payments made at alternate payment locations will take up to five days to post to Bluebonnet’s system. This should be considered when a due date is close, as a late charge could be accrued due to a three to five day lag in posting the payment to a member’s account.

Not all area HEBs and Wal-Marts are accepting payments. Bluebonnet members should check with individual retailers to ensure they accept Bluebonnet payments.

Payments made at any Bluebonnet Member Service Center, through Bluebonnet’s online bill pay process or by phone; are all credited on the actual date the payment is made. Please direct any questions regarding Bluebonnet billing to member services by phone at (800)842-7708 or by email at memberservices@bluebonnetelectric.coop.
