Bluebonnet Announces First Annual
Chess Tournament Cancelled
 
 
 
(Bastrop) – Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, in accordance with a University Interscholastic League (UIL) decision, has cancelled the first annual Regional Chess Tournament. 
 
On the recommendation of Dr. David Lakey, Commissioner of the Texas
Department of State Health Services, and in consultation with Texas Education Agency
Commissioner Robert Scott, the University Interscholastic League is altering its schedule of events due to the outbreak of the swine flu in Texas.
 
The event slated for Friday, May 8 at the Manor New Tech High School is cancelled for this school year and will be rescheduled for next year.
 
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative is one of the largest electric cooperatives in Texas and has been serving its members since 1939.
