January 9, 2007

(GIDDINGS, TEXAS) The community of Lytton Springs received a community development grant of $19,700 from Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). The grant is to be used for improvements in the Park which is located on Sunrise Street. Over the past few years the Lytton Springs Park Association Board of Directors has been able to restore the historical tabernacle, adding electrical and water service. With the help of these new funds the Board plans to install restrooms, a basketball court, and a gazebo. The Park is used for a variety of community activities including an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Flea market, and Homecoming picnic. Additionally, a number of families hold reunion, picnics and barbecues at the facilities.
