Lee County Sheriff's Posse Receives $25,000 Grant
June 22, 2007
(BASTROP, TEXAS) Thanks to a $25,000 community development grant provided by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), the Lee County Sheriff's Posse (L.C.S.P.) was able to complete the new bleacher construction on the main side of the rodeo arena.
“The finished bleachers now provide ample seating for the L.C.S.P. at the two big events we have each year (May Fair and Rodeo & July 4th PBR Bull Riding)” said Lee County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Chairman Mark Goodson. “It was great that we were able to get the seating done just in time for our Fair. These bleachers have made the L.C.S.P. Arena one of the best covered arenas in the state. The L.C.S.P. is very appreciative of the grant made possible by LCRA and Bluebonnet.”
The community grant is one of a number of grants recently awarded through LCRA's Community Development Partnership Program. The program provides economic development and community assistance grants to cities, counties, volunteer fire departments, regional development councils and other nonprofit organizations in LCRA's electric and water service areas as part of LCRA's effort to give back to the communities it serves. Bluebonnet is one of LCRA's 42 wholesale electric customers and a partner in the grant program. |
