Chisholm Trail Fire Rescue Receives $1,000 Donation

July 20 , 2006

(DALE, TEXAS) The Chisholm Trail Fire Rescue will be able to make a much needed addition to the funds they have been raising to replace necessary items stolen in a recent robbery, with the help of a $1,000 donation made by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative. Earlier this summer, around $30,000 worth of equipment, including the department’s “Jaws of Life,” were taken in a late night burglary. Most of the items stolen were necessities, and replacing them will be quite costly. The $1,000 donation will be used to replace the generator the department uses to operate under extreme circumstances, and the higher insurance premiums the department will be forced to pay as a result of the burglary. “As you know, our department operates on limited funds,” said Chief Blake Dorsett. “This made the robbery even more devastating than we could ever imagine. We lack the funds to replace the items stolen and also the ability to make up for the higher insurance premiums we will be faced with this year. Due to the generosity of Bluebonnet, our department is able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
