Planned Power Outages in the Garfield Area

November 9, 2006

(GIDDINGS, TEXAS) Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members who live within the Garfield area may experience temporary power outages between November 20th and December 1st. These planned outages
are necessary to allow crews to work on lines while performing a system conversion. All outages will begin at 8:30 am on the specified days and last for approximately one hour. Details of the outages are as follows:

  • November 20, 2006: Areas of Pearce Lane
    FM 535
  • November 28, 2006: Areas of Wolf Lane Road
    Highway 71
    Tucker Hill
    Old Bastrop Highway
  • November 29, 2006: West Pearce
    Timber Hill
    Fagerquist
  • November 30, 2006: Stoney Point to Highway 812
    Highway 21
  • December 1, 2006: Stoney Point Subdivision

Bluebonnet recommends that members prepare for the outage in the following manner: Have either a cell phone or hardwire single-line telephone available. Cordless phones will not work without electricity, review manuals to ensure that you are able to manually open and close any electric garage door, security door or gates, and turn off any sensitive electronic equipment such as computers and fax machines. Members will also want to keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to prevent food spoilage. Additionally, the cooperative recommends that members leave one light fixture on so they know when power has been restored.
