Lights out
Electric-power outages can be caused by a variety of factors such as:
- Storms — Wind, lightning, ice and snow are the most common
causes of outages.
- Trees — High winds can cause branches to come in contact
with power lines. If your lights blink when it's
windy, then tree branches in the power lines may be the
cause. Call us so we can check it out.
- Animals — Squirrels, birds and other animals can contact
power lines and cause short circuits.
- Vehicles — Vehicular accidents can damage poles or other
equipment.
- Excavation digging — Digging equipment can damage underground
cables.
- High power demand — Heat waves and other times of unusually
high demand can overload equipment and cause outages.
