Know Your Bluebonnet Fees

Deposit Policy

  • You will be required to pay a deposit for residential service if you have been delinquent in paying your bill for electric service on more than one occasion in the last twelve (12) consecutive months, if Bluebonnet has terminated your service for non-payment, or if you are applying for new service. The deposit is limited to one-sixth of the estimated annual electric bill. Deposits accrue interest at the rate set by Bluebonnet's Board of Directors and will be paid to you monthly or when the deposit is returned or credited to your account.

  • If requesting new residential service, you may present a payment history letter from your previous electric utility showing 12 consecutive months of service within the last 24 months, with no more than one late payment. Deposits will be refunded after 12 months of on time payments or applied against an outstanding indebtedness upon termination of service.

  • If you are requesting new commercial service, a deposit equal to two months average billing must be paid. Deposits, plus accrued interest, will be returned in 12 months if service has not been disconnected or had more than one late payment in the last 12 consecutive months. Deposits will be refunded or applied to an outstanding indebtedness upon termination of service.
